With your merged image highlighted in the layer palette, click on Adjust> Hue and Saturation> Colorize.  Hue 25, Saturation 35.

Duplicate your Merged Layer by right-clicking in the layer palette and clicking on Duplicate in the popup menu..  Highlight your new Copy layer in the layer palette.
Adjust>Blur> Gaussian Blur.  Radius 3.

Change the Blend Mode of the blurred copy layer in the layer palette to Overlay.
Lower the Opacity of the original Merged Layer to 56%.

Your banner should now have a smoother softer look.

This next step is optional:

Add a new Raster layer.  Change your foreground color to #D2BBA0.  Using your favorite custom brushes, add just a few clicks around the edge of your banner.  Lower the opacity of this layer a little to blend it.  I lowered mine to 74%.

We are almost done.  We need an edge of some kind.  You could add a picture frame or a mask, but I chose to add a border.  So click on Image> Add Borders.  Check Symmetric and type a 5 in one of the boxes.  Right Click on the Color Box and change the color to #452323. Click OK.

Using your Magic Wand tool, with the Tolerance set to 0, click on your border to select it.  Effects> EyeCandy 3.1> Jiggle  Use these settings.

Deselect.  Your edge will look like this.

Click on your text tool, select a font (I used Chase Callas, 36 pt.).  Change the background color to White if you want a light look or #452323 if you want a darker look.  Foreground color is Null.  Type your text and click OK.  Change the Blend Mode on the text layer to Soft Light.
